Great winch, Strong Winch

I wanted an entry level winch to put on my jeep and I shopped around before purchasing a superwinch. It has a fast line pull and low battery draw. I have not had any problems with it overheating yet. So far a great winch for the price.

Bought this winch for my Jeep XJ (kinda overkill unless your running 33s or larger) The winch is very powerful just slow compared to all my friends Warn and Smittybilt winches. As I said it is a very powerful winch, in-fact too powerful I ended up selling it to my friends Dodge 1500 and got a 4 ton winch instead of this 5 ton.

Good winch for the price

The price is why I bought it. Superwinch is a well known brand and they have been around a long time. It worked right out of the box. It is slower than some of the more expensive winches, and slightly louder. Installed easily. The bolts might be a little short if you are installing it on 1/4 plate or thicker. Comes with 150A self resetting circuit breaker, and 5 or 6' of 2 guage cable.

Word of caution-before you actually use it for a pull unwind the cable fully and check the bolt that holds down the end to the drum, mine was loose. Rewind the cable with tension on it (a few clicks of the parking brake and hooked to another vehicle).
